Thursday, May 23 and Friday, May 24
We spent most of Thursday afternoon in a hospital waiting room while Cerwin’s brother, Elvin, had heart valve surgery. Left to right: Pat (Elvin’s wife), Crystal (daughter), Ted (son), Marie (Pat’s sister), Paul (nephew), Bryan (son) and back to the camera – Velda (Elvin & Cerwin’s sister) and Cerwin.
We kept our eye on the surgery board to see when his surgery was finished. After several hours we were pleased to hear that surgery went well.
We went home while some of the others waited until they could see him.
The next day we took Anthony to Chick-Fil-A – his restaurant of choice for his 2019 birthday.
He likes Chick-Fil-A food, but also likes their playground.
After this we went to the hospital to see Elvin. He was still in ICU, so Cerwin and I took turns visiting him – as children cannot be in those rooms. We also visited him on Sunday afternoon and saw definite improvement.
Update: He came home yesterday – May 28 – and is slowly improving and healing.
I’m glad Elvin is doing better — and that he’s home now! And I’m so glad you took time out to play with Anthony — that relaly helps with the stress level!
We are grateful for his good surgery and healing.
