When I went to the mailbox last Monday, I noticed a wire hanging from one of the large overhead wires. The wire almost touched the mail box, so I called our electric company, because I didn’t want anyone touching it. I told them it looked like an exterior wire from a large cable that was unwrapping.
Before long two PPL trucks were in our driveway. They said the wire was from the phone line, and was indeed a wire from the exterior of a large cord. Because it was a phone line they couldn’t fix it. I had to call the phone company. He touched the wire to assure me that it was not dangerous.
A phone company repairman came within half an hour and was soon on the lift to either rewrap or cut the wire. Soon my phone rang. It was the repairman. He said when he got up there he noticed (by the color line) that it was not a phone line but a Blue Ridge Cable line. 🙂
I expected him to tell me that I must call Blue Ridge Cable (and we don’t even have cable TV), but he said, “I will cut it, but if it happens again, you will know to call Blue Ridge.”
I was amazed that each repairman came so quickly to fix my problem.
Good to know that they recognized the situation as potentially dangerous — what a nuisance, though, to have to call more than one company!
I was just glad that I didn’t have to call a third company. 🙂
