Saturday Evening, March 30
Randy Sauder welcomed the crowd of 578 people.
Chaplain Chris Navetta prayed for the meal.
Enjoying the salad
Yoder’s fried chicken is always a favorite. We also had beef tips, buttered noodles, yams, peas and carrots. Dessert was shoofly or cherry pie and vanilla ice cream.
Martin Boys Reunion did a fabulous job of blessing us with beautiful instrumental music and singing. The group consisted of Cleason Martin (right) and his three sons. I especially liked when they honored their mom (who died several years ago) and sang songs they learned as young boys when she insisted that they practice one hour a day.
When they finished their first set, Bunny O’Hare gave a short ministry update, telling an interesting story of a driver from Russia who kept inviting people to the chapel – even before he was ready to give his heart to the Lord.
I had the honor of introducing Hans and Anneke to the audience, beginning with how we met in 2005 when Hans ordered a lighted cross for his truck. I was the one who shipped TFC ministry material those days.
Thanks to our daughter Deb who took these pictures with my camera.
I received a hug from Hans before he sat down.
Mike Hayden gave a financial update and ministry challenge. Cerwin followed with some ministry information before the evening offering.
Martin Boys Reunion closed the program with another set of songs and challenging thoughts.
Thanks to the Martin’s for the time and effort they put into a great evening.
