Sunday, February 24
The tables were already set when we stopped in the fellowship hall before Sunday school – to make sure the coffee pots were set to go. I also put several pitchers of water in the refrigerator to chill until lunchtime.
I figured that someone had gotten the forsythia at a greenhouse, but Jane said Marlin brought some of theirs into the house early and “forced” them to bloom with the heat of the house.
I didn’t ask about the daffodils. Maybe he did the same thing with them. 🙂
As soon as church was over, the ladies who had to work on food prep were in the kitchen and ready early. The soup dippers are ready for three kinds of soup. If I remember correctly there was vegetable, potato, and corn chowder.
Carol, Jane, Cerwin, and Larry visiting until it was time for lunch.
The dessert and coffee area is next to Carol and Jane.
Many of these guys had helped with the food and setup, so they now had time to visit.
After Cerwin and I had the coffee area set up and the water glasses filled, I had time to take a few food pictures.
There were two large bowls of tossed salad.
Molded salad
Fruit Salad
Rice Krispy Rolls
Cream-Filled Cupcakes
Wilbur Buds
It suited three of our four Sunday school teachers – John, Nevin, and Kevin – and they and their families were invited to go through the food line first.
The tables were set for forty people.
Following the delicious meal, we had a nice afternoon of visiting.
