Saturday, February 2
Since my 70th birthday – 5 years ago – I try to do something extra special each day of the week prior to my birthday to remind me to be thankful to God for life and family and friends.
The first day of my birthday week started with a beautiful sunrise that illuminated the fresh snow on the ground.
This was the landscape later in the morning when we decided to do a birthday run to three local businesses where I had coupons or gift cards.
First we went to Bomberger’s Store where I had a $5.00 coupon for my birthday. I put it toward a new birdfeeder.
Our second stop was Esbenshade’s Garden Center, Lititz location, for a free primrose.
Our third stop was Fox Meadows Creamery for lunch. We also bought a half-gallon of their featured Chocolate-Covered Strawberry ice cream for a few evening snacks. Everything was free because I had two gift certificates from the end of last year.
We came home the “back way” because when going to Fox Meadows I had seen that Elizabeth Farms Christmas trees were covered with snow.
At home again. What do you think this horse is pulling?
We don’t see this kind of vehicle (a kind of sulky) on our road very often. That looks like fun.
Sunset on this delightful Saturday.
Time for an evening snack of Fox Meadows Chocolate-Covered Strawberry ice cream.
What a wonderful idea! May I copy it?
Please do copy it. 🙂
That’s a great idea — after 70, one deserves extra time to celebrate! This looks like a beautiful day — I love the tree farm and the horse pulling the Amish sulky — and the sunrise and sunset shots are wonderful! Happy 1st day of your birthday week!
Thank you.
