Sunday school – Teacher: Dustan Rohrer, our grandson-in-law (Jenna’s husband)
Align yourself with the character of God.
Follow His example.
Be a person of your word.
Church – Continuing our winter series “God’s Direction for This Age of Confusion” – Sermon by Jon Cassel – “What Brings Meaning to Life?
Is finding prosperity and happiness what life is all about?
In Ecclesiastes Solomon concluded that pleasure and prosperity are meaningless.
We spend a lot of time in searching for happiness and prosperity, but discover that when we can buy what we want, we don’t want it, don’t need it, and it doesn’t bring satisfaction.
If prosperity is your search – you will quickly find that it becomes a trap and that you soon have more and more to care for.
Solomon’s conclusion in Ecclesiastes – Fear God and keep His commandments.
If you don’t live your life in wisdom, you will not find the meaning to life.
It you want to search for the meaning of life, listen to a few conclusions from two of Christ’s parables.
Time has meaning
Keep your light burning
Keep your reservoir full
Talents have meaning
Invest in God’s Word
Take your talents seriously
Are you investing and multiplying your talents as a wise steward, or burying and losing your talent?
God created us and gave us time and talents
Homework: Look at your life
What are you doing that is pointless and without meaning?
What are you doing with passion and compassion to fill time with your God-given talents?
