Because life has been slowly returning to a new normal for Josiah, there wasn’t a lot to report in recent weeks, but there were a few major changes for him this week.
We also hear from friends and readers – asking how he is doing.
Josiah went to his orthopedic surgeon on Wednesday – the one who repaired his broken bones (wrist, femur, and pelvis) – and was given permission to drive and go back to work.
For that reason he is making preparations to move back to his home area (about an hour from our house) and return to work. He told us today that he will probably move in two or three weeks.
His saga began on the night of September 14 – four months ago – when he had a terrible motorcycle accident and ended up in Reading Hospital. We celebrated with him when he was able to “hop” with a walker and go to Reading Rehab in mid-October.
He was in Reading Rehab for about two weeks, but still could not put weight on his right leg.
He came to our place on November 1 – and has spent a lot of time in that chair during the past two and a half months. During that time he was given permission to put weight on his right leg and go for therapy and rehab.
We praise God for preserving Josiah’s life and praise Josiah for the determination to walk again. He still deals with pain – especially when he walks and has a definite limp. Pain and a limp may be with him for a long time, but he has a determination to move on with his life.
Continue to pray for him as he returns to a new normal. He has been an incredibly good patient. We will miss him, but treasure the time we had with him and were glad to give him some special love and care during his time of healing.
This is super good news, although I’m sure you will miss having him with you. Healing from such an accident is difficult — not only the bones, but also, how is he doing with the skin grafts?
The skin graft is pretty much healed – except for a few areas around the edges.
Glad to hear the skin graft is doing well too — and I hope the pain subsides well too! The limp may last longer, but that can just become a reminder! Glad Josiah is doing so well!
Thank you!
God is so good! I know the prayers of His people played a big part in Josiah’s recovery. Motorcycle accidents are so scary.
For sure!
Thank you, Lord, for the healing that is taking place in Josiah’s body. Encourage his heart, too, Lord.
Yes. Thank you.
