I didn’t mention this in yesterday’s blog, because we did not have the definite diagnosis until this morning.
Cerwin has been diagnosed with Seropositive Rheumatoid Arthritis. He had severe pain and weakness in his joints – especially his hands – at the end of August.
Following an appointment with our family doctor and several blood tests, we went to Dr. Charles Henderson who is a member of Lancaster General Health Physicians Arthritis & Rheumatology at the Lancaster Campus.
Dr. Henderson told us today that he has no doubt that Cerwin has RA.
Now Cerwin needs to have x-rays done of his hands and feet to determine if any damage has been done to his joints. He gave us the choice of two types of medication. We chose the milder one, but may have to choose the stronger one after he sees the results of the x-rays.
Cerwin is not in pain since he began taking Moringa (herbal/dietary supplement.), but this will not stop the progression of RA
Pray for us as we make decisions about his medication.
Will be praying for wisdom for the doctors and for God’s healing.
So sorry to see this — there are good meds, though, that can slow/stop the progression of RA and other arthritic conditions.
