After breakfast, Diane went outside to see what was ready for harvest in their garden.
Green beans and a squash
I looked for flowers where the sun was highlighting their beauty.
They were both pleased and surprised that this pineapple grew. After eating the pineapple they planted the top portion in an outside pot.
Their front porch
After lunch I went outside to enjoy the warm, sunny afternoon and find more beauty.
We went outside again after Mark got home from work.
You will notice that he is watering the garden. This was about the time we began getting alerts on our phones stating that there was flooding in our home area. We called our Pennsylvania children to see what was happening. A bridge washed out about two miles from our house. However, Jere said everything was okay at our house. Some areas had almost 10 inches of rain in just a few hours. We had 3-4 inches at our house.
It was difficult to imagine that there was so much rain about 500 miles away from where we were enjoying the beautiful sunshine.
Purple tomatoes
They are quite delicious and sweet.

We had a nice, relaxing day.
The flowers are absolutely gorgeous! Please remind Diane and Mark that pineapples grow on stems above all those leaves, and not underground — when I lived in Hawaii, it was a joke that the tourists would try to dig them up, or to test the leaves! That’s good to know the heritage tomatoes are sweet! I’m glad your home wasn’t damaged — maybe good that you were not at home?
I think the pineapple was just a fun project for them. They are not expecting to raise pineapples. 🙂
