It just felt like a rainbow-kind-of-evening. When I looked to the west, I could see the sun shining through raindrops.
As I walked out of our driveway – beyond the trees – with raindrops falling on my head – I was pleased to see a beautiful rainbow.
Seeing a rainbow always reminds me of God’s promise in Genesis 9.
8 God said to Noah and his sons, 9 “I am now making my covenant with you and with your descendants, 10 and with all living beings—all birds and all animals—everything that came out of the boat with you.
11 With these words I make my covenant with you: I promise that never again will all living beings be destroyed by a flood; never again will a flood destroy the earth. 12 As a sign of this everlasting covenant which I am making with you and with all living beings, 13 I am putting my bow in the clouds. It will be the sign of my covenant with the world.
14 Whenever I cover the sky with clouds and the rainbow appears, 15 I will remember my promise to you and to all the animals that a flood will never again destroy all living beings. 16 When the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between me and all living beings on earth.
17 That is the sign of the promise which I am making to all living beings.”
It’s beautiful — almost a double rainbow!
Yes, I can see a faint double rainbow.
I plan to go with my oldest daughter and her husband down to So. Indiana near Louisville for a few days with friends.. We hope to visit The Ark Aug. 23. I attended a bit of the Brethren Conference held here this last week. I was at the Old Order German Baptist Church in North Manchester when Peggy Flora came up behind me. I was so excited to see her. I enjoyed the meeting very much. After the service we were able to visit with Peggy and Clayton a few minutes, and I introduced them to my friends who were missionaries with us in CAR. They now live in Ore. and flew here for the conference and also for a family reunion.
So pleased that you got to meet Peggy. You will enjoy The Ark. Make sure you use one of their scooters because it is a lot of walking.
