I had not refilled our hummingbird feeders in awhile, so they had been empty for about two weeks.
I went back in the house – after refilling our three feeders – to clean up the syrup container and was surprised to see a hummingbird at one of the feeders. It was less than five minutes.
It was at a feeder in the dogwood tree, so I couldn’t get a great picture. It looks like a young female.
Was she watching me? Did she smell it?
Those hummingbirds really know where their food should be — they must be happpier today!
They will soon be even happier as our crepe myrtle bush is starting to bloom.
