These are in our memory garden – the shady/partly sunny area of our woodsy yard. I agree with the information from the internet that says they can take over a flowerbed. We have to keep them from taking over the walkway and other flowers.
Information from the Internet: Gooseneck Loosestrife produces unique spikes of white flowers that are bent like a goose’s neck.
Wonderful for cutting. Plants quickly spread to form a wide patch, so allow it room. Has a tendency to take over in a perennial border.
Excellent at the waterside or in a moist location.
These plants can take sun as well as partial shade.
It is in the same family as primroses and prefers sunny to partially sunny locations.
Leaves are slender and come to a point, and gooseneck loosestrife flowers are tiny and white.
The perennial is not native to North America but has adapted well to most zones in the United States.
This species is widely distributed in China and Japan where it grows in moist mountain meadows, near streams and along roadways.
Gooseneck loosestrife flowers are attractive to butterflies so dot the pieces around your landscape and enjoy the show.
