Monday Evening, May 14
The flowerbed in the center of our driveway is on a slight grade, meaning the mulch and dirt wash out onto the grass during rain storms.
Cerwin came up with the idea of lining the lower part with stones, but wasn’t sure what to use. I suggested that we talk to our grandson Josh who is skilled in hardscaping.
He and his dad came and looked over the situation. The next day they came with samples of stones. We chose the red/pink over the gray.
They came back the following Monday evening with equipment and stones. There was a large sandstone that needed broken up before they could insert the new stones. Somehow Jere got that job.
Jere and Josh setting up the stones
I think it only took an hour.
The next day Cerwin sowed grass seed.
Jere was back today (ten days later) to help Cerwin with mulching. Notice how nice the new grass looks – right. You can also tell that we removed the dying crocus and tulip greens.
Thanks for your help Josh and Jere. It looks so nice.
It’s beautiful!
I agree. I don’t know why it took us so long to think about edging the lower part with stone. ๐
It’s amazing how often the simplest solutions are the last to occur!
Very nice! I like the color of the stones.
Choosing the color of stones was my contribution. ๐
