Happy 95th Birthday to My Mother.
This picture was probably taken in 1949 when I was 5 and mother was 27.
January 28 is always a day when I think about the things I would like to tell (or ask) her and everything that has happened in our family since she died at the age of 52 in 1974 – the babies, graduations, and weddings.
Thank you, God, for choosing Florence Hawthorne Hershey to be my mother.
I didn’t know your mother died so young. The grandma that lived with us was more like a mother to my brother and me than anyone else. She died at 65. I too wish she could see our family. Praying that we will all be together in Heaven some day.
That was some of Mother’s last words, “Make sure you each join me in Heaven.”
That’s a wonderful picture — so 1940’s! Even in 1974, that was too young to die — and so much has happened since then!
She would love her family today. 🙂
