I enjoyed doing photos for this play by Nicole Yutzy of Born To Be Different Productions.
I was there for stage setup, hair and makeup, and dress rehearsal for Act 1.
Enjoy the pictures. If you want to see each of the pictures from this photo shoot, go to my Facebook page “Doris Jean High” then go to the album – “Choosing Avalon – Dress Rehearsal.”

Prelude
Living on the street in the middle of The Great Depressions, life is very hard for sisters, Kate and Avie McRoy (green jumper and burgundy skirt). Even though they live under a loading dock, they count their blessings that they have each other.
They dream of saving up enough money to escape New York and pursue a music career in Hollywood, California. So until that day comes, Avie sings, and Kate plays piano with their friend Anthony on the streets and hope passersby will toss coins in their can.

Then the day finally comes when a hot-shot Hollywood talent scout sees them perform. But the problem? He only wants Avie. So now the choice is hers: stay with her sister and continue to live in poverty or take the offer and forget all about the hardships in New York – including her sister.
The talent scouts loved her audition.

Dorothy was not happy about the arrival of Avie – who was now known as Avalon.
