Because we need all the garage and dining room space for seating, we set up two canopies on the level part of our driveway for the food tables.
We set tables for 63 people. I think there were 2 or 3 people who had to use lawn chairs.
We – especially Gloria and Ashlea – are pleased that Isaac (left) and Landon (far right) have begun attending some of our family activities. 🙂
Heidi, Kelci, and Lindsey enjoyed their own private seating.
Each family brings a hot and cold covered dish.
This time – at the suggestion of Amy Rohrer – we used a link on PerfectPotluck where people left us know what they were bringing and how many were attending. It was a hit with everyone and kept us from having duplicate dishes.
Deb was babysitting Bryson (from the High side of the family) for the day, so he got to enjoy the day with us.

Everyone parks along the bottom of our yard.
After the meal the teenagers hid plastic eggs around the yard.
The youngest – babies through age 12 wait to gather eggs and prizes.
Deb – who is in charge of this event – gives the mothers and children direction for gathering eggs.

Getting their prizes.
Some eggs have candy inside – others have notes that tell them to choose a prize.
Derek, Jeff, and Mike enjoying the quiet and shade of the memory garden.

It looks like Anthony (our great-grandson) got some chocolate in one of his eggs.

Dave reading to Elliot and Lucy
Miranda and Emma had fun adding stones to the bird bath.
I miss our parents (Bruce and Florence Hershey) on this day when their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren enjoy an afternoon together.
How wonderful that you can set aside an afternoon for the entire extended family to get together and enjoy family activities. The young ones will treasure these memories and the fact that they know their cousins, etc. will be very special to them.
I agree!
such a wonderful day for all ~
