Roy teaching Jesse how to remove dirt from the grass clumps he was creating by edging the bank – below our patio.
Jesse was excited to find a slug.
Oh, the joy of being the youngest cousin! 🙂 Nate said, “I’ll give you $10.00 if you swallow it.
It became even more tempting when his other cousins – Josiah and Jordan – and his big brother Josh added money to the pot.
There it goes – dirt and slug.
He said he would do it if someone brought him a glass of water.
He did it!
He kept drinking water and saying he needed a toothbrush. 🙂
But he loved earning $21.00.
Then he found a garden snake. No! No one is asking him to swallow that.
His next job was to help Josh finish repairing our stone steps.
Josh has been trained in hardscaping and has a great skill and eye for it.
Jared was pleased to do some weed eating in the woods behind our yard.
Jere mulching our memory garden
It is a perennial area at the back of our yard where I like to go to be quiet and remember our great heritage.
Deb working in the memory garden
Roy and Kristen cleaning up a woodsy area behind our house.
My little garden is looking nice.
Roy doing the final cleanup in the garage – where we ate lunch – and Ian coming back from mowing our neighbor’s yard. Mowing her yard is his summer job. He went next door to do that after he was finished in our yard.
Following the yardwork, we left to go to a TFC banquet about two hours away. Following a nice rain – and a rainbow – Jere came over to get a picture. Beautiful!
We are blessed to have a loving, caring family. Thank you everyone.
They did a beautiful job for you! I wish I lived a little closer so I could borrow any one of your helpers to do some weeding in my little back yard!
I’m sure they would help you. We have a great family.
I just love the ferns ~ its looking beautiful!
