Sunday, May 1
It was a cold, rainy morning as we headed to the York Make-A-Wish gathering place at Battlefield Harley-Davidson, Gettysburg.
Bill (left) is TFC’s York Chapter Contact Person and is coordinator between us and York/Gettysburg Make-A-Wish for this event.
Our first visitor came for prayer.
We were glad to be inside the dry, warm chapel.
There was no activity at the children’s rides until the rain stopped – after noon.
Even Mickey Mouse needed an umbrella.
Our second visitor also came for prayer.
We had other visitors – especially families – that I didn’t photograph. Some Boy Scouts (who were gathering trash) stopped in to get warm.
It stopped raining in time for the 1 PM convoy.
I am posting only a few of the 150 trucks that participated in the convoy.
The chapel gets a great spot in the lot.
We are in among the vendors, so cannot travel with the convoy – but that is perfect for this event.
We had more visitors – especially families – during the afternoon.
Everyone leaves about 4 PM. Bill helped Cerwin put the steps away in the storage compartments under the chapel.
It was a great day – despite the rainy start.
So sad that it rained. But I love that there were so many “Make a Wish Child on Board” signs on the trucks — how very nice of the men to do that.
There were really a lot of children on board signs. I only posted a few.
That is amazing!!!!! Beautiful and guys coming in for prayer.
We were blessed to be invited.
