Saturday Morning, May 21 TFC’s Lancaster Chapter meets at Landis Homes each May so one of the men can join them. He has been at Landis Homes since a medical situation took away his ability to walk. We didn’t fit in the special room so had breakfast in the dining room. After breakfast we fit in […]

Saturday Morning, May 21 Jere always takes his children out for breakfast on or near their birthday. When he made plans to take Jared out for his 12th birthday, Jared asked if Grandpa and Grandma could come. We didn’t think it would suit us because we were going to an 8:00 AM prayer breakfast. When Jere […]

Birds & Blossoms of May 20

| Birds, Flowers

It was a beautiful day in our yard. I think this robin must have “heard” a worm on our patio, because it was here for quite awhile. Then a mockingbird came by. Mr. Cardinal was looking for sunflower seeds. Our lilac bush has gotten quite large – and smells delightful. Lilacs and early summer seem to […]

A few weeks ago Cerwin got the word from TFC President, Scott Weidner, to begin construction on a new chapel for Houston, Texas. Yay! I get a road trip to Houston – which will take us through the only two states in the lower forty eight in which we have never traveled – Mississippi and Louisiana. (After […]

Monday Morning, May 16 I was surprised to see a Baltimore Oriole at one of our humming bird feeders. I rarely see them in our woods. The last time I saw one was in 2002, and before that it was 1997. (I date my bird book when it is one I rarely see.) He also […]

TFC Susquehanna Chapter Banquet

| Transport For Christ

Saturday Evening, May 14 We had about an hour and a half – after the last people left from yard cleanup – to get ready for the banquet. I kept looking at our beautiful yard and watching the birds return to their turf near our feeders. The flower beds look so nice with mulch or red stones. If […]

Yard Work – Part 2 of 2

Saturday, May 14 Roy teaching Jesse how to remove dirt from the grass clumps he was creating by edging the bank – below our patio. Jesse was excited to find a slug. Oh, the joy of being the youngest cousin! 🙂 Nate said, “I’ll give you $10.00 if you swallow it. It became even more tempting when his other cousins […]

Friday, May 13 When Jere informed us that he planned a family workday for our yard on Saturday, May 14. I knew there was a lot of work for the adults, so thought about what I could plan for Jesse. I have a very small garden – garden tea, a tomato plant, and a few other […]

My Mother’s Day celebration began on Friday, May 6, when Cerwin told me to pick out a bouquet of flowers when we were grocery shopping. He knows I like fresh flowers in the kitchen. On Saturday morning, Jeff stopped in with this pretty plant. I will enjoy that all summer. Thanks Jeff and Chris. On […]

This was our view on the 26-mile loop. Leaving Burle Industries It was a nice day weather-wise, consequently there were lots of people along the parade route. My husband, Cerwin, and I have four children, seventeen grandchildren (2 are in Heaven), and 19 great grandchildren. Cerwin spent 40 years as a truck driver for Ferrellgas. We are both retired from serving with Transport For Christ - a ministry to truck drivers - and love our life in rural Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
