During the previous, cold, windy weekend, Cerwin and I decided that we needed a mini, local vacation. (This was the weekend before Mother High’s death, so we didn’t want to go very far.) After the prayer breakfast, we visited Mother, then went to hear Mark Lowery. Most of you know him as a past member of the Gaither Vocal Band.
The American Music Theatre is only about an hour away from us.
He combines gospel music and comedy.
It was good to laugh at and with him.
He has a few younger relatives who think this is what he will look like when he gets older. 🙂
The vocal band that was with him.
An audience worshiper.
He closed with his most famous (and my favorite) Christmas song – while showing a video.
Mary Did You Know?
Will one day walk on water?
Mary, did you know that your baby boy
Will save our sons and daughters?Did you know that your baby boy
Has come to make you new?
This child that you’ve delivered
Will soon deliver you
Mary, did you know that your baby boy
Will give sight to a blind man?
Mary, did you know that your baby boy
Will calm a storm with His hand?
Did you know that your baby boy
Has walked where angels trod?
When you kiss your little baby
You’ve kissed the face of God
The blind will see, the deaf will hear
And the dead will live again
The lame will leap, the dumb will speak
The praises of the Lamb
Mary, did you know that your baby boy
Is Lord of all creation?
Mary, did you know that your baby boy
Will one day rule the nations?
Did you know that your baby boy
Is heaven’s perfect Lamb?
This sleeping child you’re holding
Is the ‘Great I Am.’
Was he with the Martins? We heard them many years ago at Wawasee High School not too far from here. And or course, we’ve seen and heard Mark at Gaither concerts, and on TV and You Tube.
No, I cannot remember their name. I remember the woman is a widow whose last name is Greene.
Sounds wonderful in more ways than one.
Long ago in a small Baptist church we got a surprise one Sunday night. The pastor was friends of the Gaithers. They agreed to come and perform as long as he told no one–not even the church. They just showed up and performed.AND left immediately after performing–about an hour. They were new to me at the time. Lol
Oh, wow! That would be a surprise.
How great that you had a short break during that most stressful time!
It was a wonderful break.
