Our annual New Year’s trip to Maine – to visit with Mark and Diane’s family – was delightfully uneventful, consequently I read and didn’t take many pictures.
This was the 7:00 AM sunrise – about two hours into our trip.
We were fascinated by construction on the new Tappan Zee Bridge – over the Hudson River – north of New York City. Most of these big cranes are on barges – and there were lots of them – maybe 18 to 24.
I just read that construction on the new bridge began in 2013 and is scheduled to be finished in 2018. The cost is estimated to be 4 billion.
It was a beautiful day for our nine-and-a-half hour drive north.
We began seeing signs of an earlier snow as we approached Massachusetts.
This is evidence that we were arriving in colder weather than we were used to during the past few weeks.
Good Morning, Doris.
I love traveling and seeing the sun set and rise. Nice photos as usual.
Thanks.
LOL — I noticed that the odd numbered photos in this post all look as if they could have been taken in almost the same spot! We do occasionally see snow in the mountains, but I’ve never seen ice on the rocks here like your last shot — beautiful!
You are sharp! Like I said, I didn’t take many pictures. 🙂
Oops — 🙂 I didn’t mean to blow your cover!!!
No problem. I didn’t even think about it, until you mentioned it, then I remembered taking several close together because the scenery was right for pictures. 🙂
