Jere & Kristen’s three youngest (Ian, Jared, and Jesse) spent a few days with us while their parents were on a business trip.
One of their jobs after school was caring for the chickens.
Ian is responsible for one of the water containers.
Golf balls must be helpful in teaching chickens where to lay eggs.
Jesse’s job is to gather eggs.
There are some cherry tomatoes next to the chicken pen – and the chickens love them.
The first chicken to get the tomato runs away with the others chasing her.
Jared cleaning his water container before refilling it with fresh water.
Ian with his water container responsibility
When Jared took his water container back to the pen, there was a very fresh, warm egg.
It’s nice that they live only one mile from us. It makes it easy for us to take them to the bus stop, pick them up after school, and assist in their chores.
had to smile at the tomato chicken capers ~ 🙂 And I never heard of the golf ball trick ~ clever!
