Friday evening, July 3
Our three youngest grandchildren were here for the evening, and just before dark decided to catch lightening bugs (maybe you call them fireflies).
If you look closely, you can see a few lightening bugs in these pictures.
I gave them each a plastic, deli container.
When they were finished, they opened the lids and set them free.
Then as we were preparing to go inside, I saw fireworks in the distance.
It was a beautiful evening to watch fireworks.
A big rig going by the house.
My favorite light of the night was the beautiful, full moon.
Fireflies are completely foreign to this part of the world! They are so interesting — fun to catch, and a deli cup full must look a little like the fireworks display! And, of course, a full moon really is beautiful, and sets a wonderful tone for an evening!
I wasn’t aware that you didn’t have fireflies in your part of the world.
just gotta love fireflies (lightning bugs to us as children)! Oh my, the moon shot!!! Wonderful ~
I love to watch the lightening bugs this time of year.
