Doing a quick update on our trip, because I am not sure if I will have time or internet for the next five days.
The view of the TFC chapel and truck stop outside our motel room.
We got into more heavy rain – turn on your 4-ways or pull off the road kind of rain.
Cerwin brought a cinnamon roll along from the motel and enjoyed it with his second cup of coffee – as we traveled north.
We eventually drove out of the heavy rain.
I enjoy seeing Wisconsin farms.
We stopped at a quick stop for a snack/lunch.
Being in Wisconsin, I was craving cheese and pretzels.
Hazelnut latte for me and a cappuccino for Cerwin.
More scenery on the way to Duluth.
Lake Superior near the city of Superior
Cerwin found a great deal for our one-night stay here – the cheapest rate on motels so far on this trip.
After checking in we drove a few blocks – on the same street – to shop at Duluth Trading Co.
We thought this may be the headquarters, but it is in Wisconsin.
He eventually enjoyed a cup of coffee while I shopped. 🙂
My purchase. I love these sneaker/sandals.
Then we went to the 15th floor of our hotel for supper in the revolving restaurant.
My Osso Buco (pork), san marzano tomatoes, and creamy polenta.
Cerwin’s pork tenderloin, butter apples, fingerling potatoes, and grilled vegetables.
We shared a crème brulee as we continued to enjoy the revolving view.
I love seeing the barns and farmlands! And that looks like a wonderful hotel — revolving restaurants are such fun!
Me too. It was a great hotel.
extraordinary day, I’d say! 🙂 Thankful you got of Rochelle, IL when you did!
Extraordinary for sure.
