Graduation From Men’s Frat ~ Part 1

Friday Evening, March 20

1We were pleased to be invited to Jere and Josh’s graduation from Men’s Frat at LCBC – a local church.

1a (1)Jere and Josh go to the early morning study. There is also an evening study.

1a (2)From their website: Men’s Frat at LCBC is our primary environment for adult men of all ages. Since 2005, over 9,000 men have joined this 24 week experience which runs from September through March. This journey enables a man to understand his masculine identity and make the pursuit of true manhood a lifelong priority.

Men’s Frat at LCBC is based on a number of curricula that sharpen a man’s focus, resulting in life change that positively impacts key areas of life.

1bThis is the eighth year for Jere. He enjoys the challenge of becoming the man that God has called him to be.

1c (1)It was the first year for Josh – which means that he would be “knighted” into serving God with honor and courage.

1c (2)His friend Allie wanted to be there for this special night.

1c (3)The theme for the evening.

1c (5)Clair and Denny said their job in Men’s Frat is to make everyone feel welcome – and they usually do it with humor.

On this night they started by showing a series of pictures as to why women live longer than men. 🙂

1c (6)

1c (7)This one was titled – Every man needs a good woman. 🙂

1c (8)The stage was decorated with construction material – reminding us that each person in the Christian journey is under construction, and that completing a study does not make him perfect.

1dKeith Walker (Area Representative • Knights Of The 21st Century) gave a short challenge on the necessity of building on “The Rock” rather than on the sand.

1e (1)This is from the internet: Over the last seven years, Keith has taught more than 7,000 men the principles of manhood. He serves on the Men’s Ministry Leadership team at LCBC as the primary presenter.

1e (2)
His comfortable style of communication engages audiences of all ages with personal humor and creative storytelling, all while driving the hard-hitting truth home.

Floyd Soule, who is moving to a southern state, was honored for his many years of serving the Men’s Frat – often behind the scenes.

Then it was time for the 400 men to graduate from the 2014-2015 class.
1g (2)
The program moved quickly as men came forward to be honored with a graduation handshake – or to be knighted if they were a first year graduate.

1g (5)
We were surprised that our friend Wil Siegrist (center) was the only graduate we knew – beside Jere and Josh – as LCBC is a local church.
1g (6)
Then it was Jere’s turn to walk on stage.

At the end of the service, the graduates stood, faced the audience, and read this to their family and friends.

How different the world would be if all men chose to serve God as men of courage and honor.
I was blessed to be there.

Tomorrow night I will show you what we did afterward.
