Birthday Presents
Sunday, February 8 My gifts and cards came on a variety of days, so I saved them for one post. I love that two of our children chose the same card. I got mismatch socks from Mark and Diane. Thank you! My happy feet. Kristen prepared some “make ahead” meals, and made some smaller meals […]
My Birthday Supper
Saturday Evening, February 7 Cerwin honored me by inviting our children to join us for my 71st birthday supper on Saturday night – the evening before my birthday. It greatly pleased me that our Pennsylvania children were there. Chris & Jeff, Deb & Roy, Kristen & Jere. Being with our children is my favorite birthday gift. Sibling […]
A Golden Gift In The Western Sky
Friday, February 6 I love beautiful, golden gifts.
A Delightful Day
Friday, February 6 I needed a day away from winter’s cold, and a busy, rather stressful few days. I had a $25.00 “birthday” gift certificate from the owner of this nail salon, and asked our daughter Deb (above) when she had her next appointment. We planned to go on Thursday, but because of snow, changed the appointment to […]
Sunrise Extraordinaire
Tuesday Morning, February 3 It was difficult to overlook a morning sky like this. It lit up every window that was facing east. It reached every area of the eastern sky. It didn’t last long. So I enjoyed it as long as possible. It truly was a sunset extraordinaire. A morning blessing from the Lord. At no charge.
Visiting Josiah
Sunday Evening, February 1 After visiting Cerwin’s mother, we and Diane were hoping to spend time with Josiah (Mark & Diane’s oldest son), but the people returning to Maine decided to leave several hours early to get ahead of a snow storm. We met the two vans a few miles from Josiah’s place, and after saying […]
For My 71st Birthday
I praise You because of the wonderful way you created me. Everything you do is marvelous! Of this I have no doubt. Psalm 139:14 (CEV) Thank you God that You are the creator of the universe that You are the creator of me and designed me exactly to Your specifications. Thank You for bringing me into this world and giving […]
Happy Birthday To Our Favorite Josh
We Love You! Grandpa & Grandma High
Visiting Grandma
Sunday, February 1 Since Diane had a very short weekend in Pennsylvania, visiting Grandma had a dual purpose. It was the only time it suited our daughters to see each other, and it was a great time for each of them to visit Grandma. Having lunch in the Café is a nice quiet place to eat and visit […]
Diane
Saturday, January 31 Our oldest daughter, Diane, had an opportunity to come here (from Maine) for a short weekend – with two van loads of people going to a youth conference. Their grandson draws her here like a strong magnet. 🙂 Eight-month-old Anthony doesn’t have the “smile for the camera” routine down yet. Diane treasures her time […]
The Benefits Of Having A Man Cave
I don’t often feature our man cave – because I like to respect their privacy – but today is the right time to honor the guys and girls who come to our house. One day – last week – I looked outside and noticed Josh shoveling our driveway. He is in truck driving school and […]
Icicles & A Squirrel
Wednesday, January 28 – This would have been my mother’s 93rd birthday. I loved the glitter of the sun shining on these icicles. They looked like glass. I wasn’t quite as thrilled to find a squirrel in this birdfeeder, but took advantage of the photo opportunity. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Cardinals & Ice
Tuesday, January 27 Cardinals always look spectacular in the snow. The male seemed particularly brilliant. The temperatures were warm enough last Tuesday to create many icicles. The snow made everything look cold – even with a warm-looking sunset.
Snow – Again
Monday Afternoon and Evening, January 26 It was a gray, cloudy, snowy day – making the lighting poor for getting a picture of a dark gray bird. He even looked gloomy. By evening there were icicles and… …more snow. Cerwin keeps the snow shovel nearby this winter.
Going Home
Monday, January 26 Little lady covers her eyes as mom combs and sprays her hair. Their van is packed – full. It’s a snowy morning. We prayed with them – for their safety. It is also windy. Little man is wondering what is going on this early in the morning – this photo says that […]
