Sunday Evening, February 1
After visiting Cerwin’s mother, we and Diane were hoping to spend time with Josiah (Mark & Diane’s oldest son), but the people returning to Maine decided to leave several hours early to get ahead of a snow storm.
We met the two vans a few miles from Josiah’s place, and after saying goodbye to Diane, Cerwin and I had great time visiting Josiah in his “bachelor pad.”
He lives in a small cabin-style house and has fixed it up quite nicely. He acquired most of his furnishings at a very low cost, much of it free, or made it himself.
He lives between a creek and wooded area and a busy highway.
I had fun helping him set the table and prepare for supper.
He had invited several friends from his church.
Marinating chicken
He has a neat grill that is called a “Green Egg” even though not all of them are green.
He can control the temperature and even baked a blueberry cake while we were eating supper. It was delicious with ice cream.
I didn’t take pictures during the meal, because I did not know his friends – or if they would be comfortable with photos.
We had a wonderful and interesting evening.
Mark and Diane, you would have been proud of him. Josiah is a great host.
We didn’t stay real late, because it was snowing, and we were almost an hour away from home.
The closer we got to home, the less it was snowing.
By the time we crossed the mountain and got on Route 322, it was raining.

I love having adult grandchildren.
Oh, my — I’m glad you got home safely!!!
Yes, we were glad the weather changed as we neared our house.
A happy post, and proud happy grandparents.
Yes! 🙂
sounds like such a nice evening ~
We had fun!
