Monday, November 10
Everyone should have a friend and neighbor like our niece Amy. Her thoughtfulness made me wonder why I didn’t think of taking a meal to my sister Nancy when their family went through a stressful situation lately. And when Nancy heard what her daughter did for us and Jere and Kristen on Monday, she said, “Why didn’t I think of that.” 🙂
The meal even came with a menu and directions for baking.
Monday was the day that Jere and Kristen took Jana to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia to hear if Jana’s AVM mass can be reduced/removed. http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/janahigh
When Amy asked about bringing us a meal as well as one for Jere and Kristen, I decided to bake and serve both here so Jere and Kristen could go home to a clean house. Notice the deviled eggs and carrots on the table (which I didn’t photograph separately) and the fruit salad on the counter behind Jere.
Cupcakes are Amy’s specialty.
You can only imagine how incredibly delicious these were.
Thank you Kevin and Amy. We felt loved and blessed.

Pray for Jere, Kristen, Jana, and the medical team at CHOP tomorrow (Thursday) as they have an early morning appointment in Philadelphia. We expect the doctors will present their plan for shrinking/removing the AVM.
The three youngest boys are here overnight so I can get them to the school bus in the morning.
Will be praying! What a blessing your niece was to your family. How very thoughtful.
Thank you! And yes, it was so thoughtful.
How nice of Amy — and what a lovely dinner! That’s such a nice gesture, and probably the most help that anybody can provide besides emotional/spiritual support!!
And she brought everything in containers that didn’t need to be returned.
By the way Amy..that meal had lasted way beyond Tuesday morning on the sustainability level.. Thank you for blessing us and Mother and Daddy..
I still have a few left-overs for lunch today. 🙂
Thinking of you and praying for Jana. The meal looks so delicious, I love how Amy thoughtfully typed up the directions. What a blessing!
Thanks for praying for Jana.
