A Meal From Our Niece Amy

Monday, November 10

Everyone should have a friend and neighbor like our niece Amy. Her thoughtfulness made me wonder why I didn’t think of taking a meal to my sister Nancy when their family went through a stressful situation lately. And when Nancy heard what her daughter did for us and Jere and Kristen on Monday, she said, “Why didn’t I think of that.” 🙂

2The meal even came with a menu and directions for baking.

1Monday was the day that Jere and Kristen took Jana to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia to hear if Jana’s AVM mass can be reduced/removed. http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/janahigh

When Amy asked about bringing us a meal as well as one for Jere and Kristen, I decided to bake and serve both here so Jere and Kristen could go home to a clean house. Notice the deviled eggs and carrots on the table (which I didn’t photograph separately) and the fruit salad on the counter behind Jere.

Cupcakes are Amy’s specialty.

Thank you Kevin and Amy. We felt loved and blessed.

Pray for Jere, Kristen, Jana, and the medical team at CHOP tomorrow (Thursday) as they have an early morning appointment in Philadelphia. We expect the doctors will present their plan for shrinking/removing the AVM.

The three youngest boys are here overnight so I can get them to the school bus in the morning.
