The International Staff had special prayer for the chapel and our travel safety on Thursday afternoon – after Cerwin and Glenn had almost everything packed and ready for the trip.
TFC President, Scott Weidner, tested the La-Z-Boy to make sure it is satisfactory for Chaplain Sam. 🙂
We were out of bed just before 3 AM ~ left the house a few minutes after 4 AM ~ and were driving out of the TFC driveway shortly before 5 AM. It was still dark (above) when we stopped at Tom’s Travel Center, Milroy, PA, for a breakfast sandwich.
It was a beautiful day for traveling.
We got on I-80 north of State College and stayed on it for the rest of day.
Most of the fall foliage is beyond its peak, but there are still some pretty trees.
We crossed the Ohio border at 10:13. I promised Cerwin’s mother that I would call her each time we crossed into a new state. She liked that.
Cerwin checked under the hood when we stopped for a break in Amherst, Ohio.
We saw lots of farmland, soybean harvest, and beautiful farms.
Tumbledown barns also attract my attention.
I would love to know their story.
We stopped early, because Cerwin had driven plenty of hours and he didn’t want to get into the Chicago area.
We are now in the truck listening to our church service at home. It is the second evening of revival services.
Thank you, Lord, for a good day. Thank you for praying for us.
