Because Mark and Diane were visiting from Maine, I thought it would be fun to have my siblings and their children here for a pizza supper so they could visit. (Mark and Diane had seen Cerwin’s family a few days earlier for Mother’s birthday party).
Abby came early and played Dominos with us and her parents.
My sister, Nancy, (right) and two of her daughters – Melissa (left) and Karen (center).
Please keep Melissa in your prayers. Earlier this summer she discovered a lump in one of her breasts. A mammogram discovered another one, and they tested malignant. A few days ago she had a double mastectomy and early reconstruction. Surgery went well, and she came home today. I am not aware that the surgeon has given a recommendation to have or not have radiation or chemo.
Amy (another daughter of my sister) is baking whoopee pies and cupcakes for a school fundraiser, so I ordered some for dessert.
They are amazing. I especially liked the snicker doodle ones.
There was a nice variety of delicious cupcakes.
I had so much fun visiting that I forgot to take any more pictures. 🙂
Mark and Diane left the next morning – to continue their anniversary trip. They visited a specialty store in Connecticut and went to the top of Mt. Washington on the cog railroad before going home to Maine.
It was so much fun having them here for a few days. I was disappointed that I didn’t get a picture of our 4 children and their spouses as it was the first time they were all 8 together in two and a half years.
Looks like a fun evening, with all that pizza and those cupcakes and whoopie pies!!! It must have been, if it caused you to forget to take photos!
You know I am having fun when I forget to take pictures. 🙂
Nothing like enjoying a wonderful meal with family. Doesn’t get much better 🙂
I agree!
I will pray for Melissa. She looks so young to have such a problem. May God give her peace and healing.
I made snickerdoodle cookies before my brother and sister-in-law came and we have been enjoying them. They were here in March. That was when Tom was in the hospital so I hardly saw them. It was good to have them here to be with Mother.
Her surgery is over, and she is now healing at home. She said she thinks her physical healing will probably happen before her emotional healing. Thanks for praying.
