I am going too begin with the “beast” ~ Hezekiah’s 1981 Chevy Malibu. 🙂
This is the floor board – or lack thereof ~ as you look at he ground below.
Heze and his friend Wil spent three days installing flooring and working on other things to get it ready to run.
Every so often Heze recruited Grandpa to take him to the parts store for something.
While they were doing their thing, I blogged, then made a fresh peach dessert for supper. I saw it in a magazine I was reading on my Nook as we traveled to Maine the day before.
There was real whipped cream, cream cheese, yogurt, and graham crackers. We used chocolate crackers since that is what Diane had on hand.
When the dessert was in the refrigerator, I went outside to look for some beauty in their yard.
Since the colors matched, I thought the next picture was fitting between the flowers.
Diane is a caregiver for Cynthia – taking her for groceries, helping her clean, some days driving her to her beach house, etc.
Diane wanted us to meet, so brought her to the house. I have been hearing about Cynthia for many months so it was nice to see her.
Toward evening we heard a sound outside that indicated the car was running.
Heze said, “Wait, Grandma, we aren’t ready for a picture yet.”
Toward dark they called me outside. They were ready for the picture! 🙂
They were also ready for some fun.
Somehow my mind went back to the days when I watched Dukes of Hazard with our boys.
It’s a good thing they live along a dead-end road. 🙂
After they left, I looked for some beauty in Mark and Diane’s garden.
Diane told me these are called Honey Boat Squash.
Their bamboo is in full bloom.
This nighttime picture is one of my favorite shots of the day.
Love the flowers, both in daylight and at night — and the squashes are really pretty too! It’s nice that you haad a chance to meet Cynthia — now you’ll know her when Diane mentions her.
Thanks. Yes, I was glad to meet Cynthia so I know who Diane is talking about.
Uncle Jeff says that looks like a redneck from Maine!
A redneck for sure!
Yep, Dukes of Hazzard ~ that’s what comes to mind ~ 🙂
They were having so much fun that evening.
