Wednesday, August 20 at Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park With Aunt Deb
When I told Deb that we were planning to entertain ourselves with day trips during this summer’s Cousin’s Week, she suggested Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park not far from where she lives.
We were pleased that it worked out for each of the six school-age grandchildren and Deb to spend most of the day at the park.
What a fun place! In this picture Ian is waiting to enter the steps – after water is being dumped on someone. Kids could fill a large scoop and dump water on a friend or any unsuspecting person.
When this water tank filled, it also emptied water on those standing below.
These water cannons were a favorite of Jared, Gloria, and Ian.
These boys on the ground also had water ammunition to spray back at them. I think there was also another set of water cannons on this platform.
This is the other side of the platform where our three children were spraying water.
After a lot of running, swimming, and playing, Jesse was ready for a break, and found a lounge chair.
Deb and I relaxed at our table and enjoyed the park’s delicious lemonade – and shared a chicken wrap for lunch.
Jana and Diana took an afternoon siesta after lunch.
After a couple of hours in the pool area, the children changed clothes and jumped on the huge “hill-shaped” trampoline.
We had a 3:00 PM appointment in the Lazer Tag area, and on the way met Yogi Bear.
Getting instructions for the lazer tag game.
When the day was over, they all seemed to agree that this was the most fun part of the afternoon..
The goal is to score points by “hitting” the screen on top of the gun.
The two teams had some interesting hiding places.
Jared was pleased to be the winner. I think he won 3 out of the 4 games. If I remember correctly, Diana won the first game.
Our next stop was “deer park” where Bucky and Jarrett live. They are the two fawns that were orphaned early in the summer. Deb took care of them until they were too big for their house.
Bucky loves to suck on ears. 🙂
Jarrett is a bit shy, but is always glad to see Deb when she comes by to feed them each day.
Deb is so pleased to have found this fenced-in area where the property owner is delighted to have deer.
This turkey was also raised here, and though he is free to roam the woods, he comes home to eat and roost each evening.
So ended our Wednesday excursion.
Oh, my — more fun!
Thanks! I forgot to save this on private before going away for the evening. Now it is finished. 🙂
