Chuck-E-Cheese’s and Pizza Day
We like to get to Chuck-E-Cheese’s when the doors open – to get ahead of the birthday parties. However, we didn’t know they changed the opening time from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM.
So, we enjoyed shopping for some groceries and a few new movies at Wal-Mart, then purchased some items at Five-Below – both in the same shopping mall as Chuck-E-Cheese’s.
After meandering through the stores and on the mall sidewalks, 10:00 AM finally arrived.
Diana chatted with Jana on my cell phone while Jana was on a break at work. She has a summer job at Lancaster DHIA.
Jesse found a friend to join him in this race.
Diana checking out her skills as a guitarist.
Jesse hit the jackpot in one of the games!
Ian and Gloria helped him put the long string of tickets in the ticket counting machine.
He was happy with that number – from one game.
Diana decided to give her tickets to the others – with many of them going to Ian for his upcoming birthday.
Every Tuesday evening of Cousin’s Week is known as pizza night – and each of the local grandchildren are invited. This is our way of getting the older grandchildren involved in the week. Rino’s was pleased to deliver five pizzas.
I am not sure why I chose to take a picture from this end of the table! These three (especially Nate and Jordan) try their best to ruin my pictures. On this evening they kept swinging back and forth. 🙂
Around the table: clockwise beginning with Nate on the left, Jordan, Jared, Ian, Abby (holding Anthony), Nathaniel, my empty seat, Cerwin, (It was nice having Cerwin home again. He had spent two days in Massachusetts doing some repairs on the Shrewsbury chapel.) Because I knew he and Glenn were getting back about suppertime, I invited him and Rachel to join us for pizza, who are at the far end of the right side of the table). Diana (changing from barn clothes during this picture) needed to be picked up from her evening milking job at the supper hour, and when her other grandma (Lois) offered to get her, I invited her for supper (she is hidden by Glenn at the far end of the right side of table), Jesse, Gloria, Jana, and then there is Sam (Nathaniel’s brother), next to Josh at this end of table). He takes Jana and Diana to many church youth activities, so the girls invited him.
That is how we managed to have 18 people at the table on Cousin’s Week Pizza Night.
When Rachel arrived, she and Glenn noticed this pretty butterfly at our butterfly bush.
I don’t remember ever seeing one like it before.
I had to check a butterfly listing online to identify it, and concluded that it is a Great Spangled Fritillary.
Well most of them at the table were cousins, or at least relatives — you do have an enormous family! Love the shots of the Fritillary!
It was a fun evening!
Pizza, the jackpot, and a fritillary. Fun!
Fun is a great description of the day.
