Sunday Afternoon, August 17
Jared and Cerwin stayed cool under umbrellas.
A wet Jesse coming back toward us dragging his life jacket.
Then he helped his dad drag their wet boat to the truck where all boats were loaded for disposal.
There were a few final races. I think this one was the winners from the individual races.
Then a final race to determine the fastest boat – between Just in Case and Merrimack.
Lamar and Steve were serious racers.
Dwayne, Cody, and Logan gave it all they had ~ but they had to settle for second.
Then it was the most fun event of the afternoon ~ the demolition derby.
Duck Slayer (Scott and Blaine) is down!
CAT is going down if Steve and Lamar have anything to do with it.
Charlotte is going in the water.
She is making sure Steve and Lamar go in too! 🙂
Her brother Reese is helping her put them down.
A battle between Boat 28 (Matthew) and Hope It Floats (Gordon and Brayden).
Pond Scum’s crew and the crew of U.S.S. YOLO try to sink each other.
It looks like YOLO is loosing this battle.
Kerwin, Cambrie, and Carson are on to sink someone else.
They won’t have to bother with these two.
S.S. Hope It Floats has gone down.
It looks like everyone is now trying to sink Pond Scum.
The Bobber (Garth and Jack) is still looking good. Their dad (Doug) is in the water helping to “destroy” other boats.
There are now more upside down than upright.
The last one upright was The Bobber (Jack and Garth)
~~~
The winner circle:
Just In Case (Steve & Lamar) – The Fastest
The Expedition (Mike, Claryn & Curtis) – Best Decorated
Pond Scum (Kerwin, Cambrie & Carson) – Best Dressed
The Bobber (Doug, Garth & Jack) – Most Unsinkable
Tip-Sea T-i-g-er (Dwight, Anthony & Zachery) – The Titanic (Most Dramatic Sinking)
CAT (Jerry & Reese) – Most Creative Design
~~~
Now that was fun! I hope they do it again next summer.
That’s just way too much fun!!!!!!!!!
I agree!
That was great fun! I don’t remember if you said that it was on a lake near your home? Do they have to retrieve and dump the sunken boats, or do they just disintegrate? I think I liked the individual races best, but it’s always fun to see such creative competition!
It was a pond on private property. The wet cardboard was retrieved from the lake and put in a truck. The person who owned the truck was going to dispose of it.
