Sunday Afternoon, August 17
After our grandsons got out of the water, someone else rescued their boat.
Now that his boys’ race was over, Jere could relax and watch the rest of the races.
Spirit of Janelle was manned by Keith and Eli – and went down at the dock.
Duck Slayer kept going – with Blaine and Scott doing the paddling.
Keith and Eli had a backup boat – Muk Dienestte – but it didn’t last very long either. 🙂
The sixth race was between U.S.S. YOLO and Merrimack.
It looked like Dwight, Lauren, and Ethan (YOLO) and Dwayne, Logan and Cody (Merrimack) were going to be in a tight race.
I liked the note on the back of their boat. No, the person on the right is not a masculine lady, it is Dwight with a wig.
It looks like Merrimack edged-out YOLO to win this race.
Then it was CAT against S.S. Zimmerman – a race of brother-in-laws and cousins.
Jerry and Reese’s boat was so much fun to watch as it SLOWLY moved away from the dock.
It really didn’t matter that CAT was going slow, because Gary and Owen’s boat capsized early in the race.
The slow, steady movement of this boat quickly made it a favorite of everyone.
It appeared to be rather deep in the water – looking like it was going to slowly sink.
They eventually made it around the buoy and headed back to the dock.
Because there was an uneven number of entries, YOLO ran a second time to give Boat 28 some competition.
Matt was the only one who manned a boat by himself, and he did quite well.
This was the end of the regular races. And it was so much fun to watch, but there was a lot more fun to come.

Tomorrow night I will show you some of the finals.
Such creativity, such fun! Is this an annual event?
I hope it will be an annual event. If it is, this was the first annual. 🙂
