Cardboard Boat Races – Part 1

Sunday Afternoon, August 17

We thought we may have to miss this, or at least the first part (because of taking the chapel to York Springs in the morning), but we got there just in time to hear the final instructions before the race.

1This was part of a Sunday school class picnic – which included our son Jere’s family.

Ian and Jesse (brown boat) were excited to participate.

2 (1)They were dressed as pirates.

2 (2)The U.S.S. Yolo is ready to be carried to the dock. Dwight, Lauren & Ethan would be manning this one.

2 (3)Duck Slayer, by Scott and Blaine, is on its way to the dock.

2 (4)Merrimack is also ready for the race.

2 (5)This one isn’t on the list of pre-registered boats, but it appears to be Dwayne and a few of his children.

Costumes were important as there was going to be judging.

DSC_7468There were lots of spectators – anxious to see how their friend’s or family member’s boat did.
