Sunday Morning, August 17
It was a warm, rainy morning when we arrived with the mobile chapel.
Watching Cerwin and the guys from the church trying to figure out where to park the chapel reminded me of one of the reasons we have chapels in truck stops – church parking lots are not designed for big rigs.
They eventually settled for a spot between shrubbery.
This is the reason we arrive at churches early – before there are cars in the parking lot
We invited Bunny O’Hare (TFC’s Director of Chaplain Care) to go with us because they wanted TFC staff to provide the entire speaking portion of the morning service. In this picture he is helping Cerwin set up the steps. Bunny shared a ministry update and Cerwin gave them information about chapel construction.
Many of the church members came to see the chapel after morning worship.
This couple (the man signing the register and the lady with her back to the camera) were visiting, and did not know we were going to be there.
They found it interesting to hear about the ministry, because just the night before they had driven by our International Office and wondered what we were – thinking that Transport For Christ was a trucking business. (We hear that a lot.)
Then it was time to take down the steps…
Just up the road from the church we passed a nice apple orchard.
One of the best parts of visiting churches is meeting believers – and that was the case on this day. We were blessed by their emphasis on praying for each other.

When we pulled the chapel into TFC’s parking lot, a man in a car followed us into lot. We thought maybe he wanted directions or had a question for us. However, he handed Cerwin $60.00 and said, “God told me to give this to your ministry.”
