ATCA = The Antique Truck Club of America, Inc.
Friday, June 13
As we traveled through a downpour during the last forty-five minutes of the drive to Macungie, we were grateful that Chaplain Jake had taken the chapel a day earlier.
Many pulled off the road while others drove slowly with their four-ways on.
It lightened slightly as we approached Macungie Memorial Park.
Hundreds of drivers and their trucks were already there.
Jake was relaxing in the chapel when we arrived – waiting for the rain to stop.
This is the view I saw from the chapel’s living quarters window.
After the rain stopped, I ventured outside.
I like seeing the really old vehicles.
When I got back to the chapel, this interesting vehicle was parked beside us.
A few more guys had joined Cerwin and Jake.
Before long it was time to walk to the other end of the park for supper.
We were glad that the rain had stopped – making it nice for feeding the 400-plus people who were registered for the meal.
I saw a lot of people wearing the Antique Club’s T-shirts.
This one was from a few weeks earlier – at another truck show.
Chaplain Jake and Doug getting ready for prayer before the meal.
Some of the hot dog buns were “branded.”
I wish I had thought to take other pictures of the food, but I was so intrigued by the variety – hot dogs, hamburgers, pulled pork, shrimp, and mussels – plus salads and desserts.
It was the first time I was here for the Friday night supper.
I took a few more pictures as we walked back to the chapel.
I was glad the rain stopped and there was the promise of a beautiful day on Saturday.

Cerwin and I slept in the living quarters of the chapel – on the comfortable air mattress which is part of the sofa bed.
More pictures tomorrow night.
Oh my goodness — that’s a LOT of rain! Looks like more than we’ve had all year!
I thought of that as we traveled – that some people would be delighted with this rain.
