One day in early May Cerwin received a call from Dennis Finnamore, TFC’s Director of Canadian Ministries, asking how soon he could get a chapel to Pass Lake Truck Stop ~ east of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada.
Cerwin’s goal for delivery is sometime in October.
Within days he called Jim at Jagtrux to see if they had any available 48′ trailers. They did, and this is the one Cerwin and Glenn chose.
Since the back doors were in good shape, and Cerwin doesn’t use them, Jagtrux removed them and put them in storage incase they have a trailer that needs back doors replaced.
By May 29 the back doors had been removed, angle iron was welded in place surrounding the back area, and the entrance door opening had been cut.
The next day Cerwin cut the opening for the living quarters window.

Wall sections that were prepared for installation.
The fan that keeps the guys cool (or cooler) on warm days.
June 12 – Dan and Don painting ceiling panels.
Dave, Glenn, Cerwin, and Leonard discussing the next step in construction.
The table where floors, walls, and ceilings are assembled
Glenn and Leonard cutting 2 x 4s.
Marking 2 x 4s so they know where to put studs .
Yesterday the guys installed the back wall to the trailer – replacing the doors that had been removed.
The wall and ceiling framework.
Using a piece of paneling to make sure the walls are square.
Ceiling panels ready for installation.
This is what the interior looked like at the close of today.
Cerwin was standing in the living quarters looking toward the chapel area.
Before long, they’ll be building chapels in their sleep!
Sometimes I think they do! Especially when they have to try something new. It isn’t unusual for Cerwin to wake up with an idea.
