Make-A-Wish ~ Gettysburg

Sunday, May 4

Do not confuse these pictures with Make-A-Wish ~ Lancaster ~ which was held today. I will post those pictures later in the week.

DSC_8960The convoy of trucks near Gettysburg began promptly at 1:30 p.m.

DSC_8962I will only post a few pictures of the trucks to show you a bit of the variety.

DSC_9044Just as there was a variety of colors and styles in the fire and EMT vehicles, there was a variety of truck colors and makes.

DSC_9094After the parade ended, we went back to the chapel.

DSC_9137This was the busiest time for us.

DSC_9145A highlight of the day for me was talking to a man who stopped in to see the chapel ~ because he saw it on his late morning walk. He didn’t even know about Make-A-Wish.

He came inside because he “felt” that he needed to stop in. After I explained a bit about TFC’s ministry, he asked if he could sit in the living quarters and read.

He spent a long time reading. When it got cool in the mid afternoon, I went inside the chapel and sat down just inside the door. He came to talk to me, saying that after reading some of the literature on the chapel he came to realize how far he had wandered from God.

DSC_9147We talked a bit. However, he wasn’t free to tell me about his current, spiritual struggle. He said he needed to read some more. He told me enough that I know he had once walked with the Lord.

Though Cerwin and I prayed with him before he left the chapel, he did not make a commitment to turn his life around, but I could sense that the Lord was truly working in his life.

Pray for Graham.

DSC_9133Meeting Graham was truly a “God-Thing” and I love when that happens.

I love telling people about Transport For Christ ~ but even more I love telling them about the power of Jesus Christ.
