Sunday, March 30
After lunch ~ while Jere and Kristen were putting food and dishes away ~ Jared played a few songs and asked Grandpa to sing with him. In this photo they are singing “Do Lord.”
I’ve got a home in glory land that out-shines the sun.
I’ve got a home in glory land that out-shines the sun.
I’ve got a home in glory land that out-shines the sun.
Way beyond the blue.
Chorus: Do Lord, O, Do Lord, O do remember me,
Do Lord, O, Do Lord, O do remember me,
Do Lord, O, Do Lord, O do remember me,
Way beyond the blue.
I took Jesus as my Saviour, You take Him too.
I took Jesus as my Saviour, You take Him too.
I took Jesus as my Saviour, You take Him too.
Way beyond the blue.
Chorus: Do Lord, O, Do Lord, O do remember me,
Do Lord, O, Do Lord, O do remember me,
Do Lord, O, Do Lord, O do remember me,
Way beyond the blue.
While they sang, I photographed one of Kristen’s beautiful amaryllis blooms.
By the way, the grandchildren don’t ask me to sing, because I can’t carry a tune – so I take pictures while the others sing. 🙂
Then it was time for gifts. Jesse was first.
A card from her three youngest brothers.
They each gave her perfume and hand sanitizer.
Josh does something special – like take her shopping or out for lunch.
Then she was told to close her eyes while Jere set his and Kristen’s gift in front of her.
Josh and Ian took turns looking through the scope.
Jana and Ian just passed their hunter safety course the other week, so they are anxious for hunting season.
Jared was more interested in reading a new magazine.
Josh held her eyes shut while the cake was brought to the table.
High heel shoes are so Jrae. (J Rae – short for Jana Rae)
I didn’t get a picture of the interior – it was red velvet with chocolate mousse filling.
Delicious!
What fun to help celebrate your birthday. We love you!
What a wonderful group of gifts — happy birthday again to Jana!
Thanks – from me and Jana.
I’m glad you explained the letters on the cake. She looks like a very happy birthday girl.
I thought people would wonder what they meant. 🙂
