Harrisburg Farm Show Complex and Expo Center
Following our visit to Horse World Expo, we found our seats in the Large Area where we had reservations for Theatre Equus – described as “A Musical Equine Revue.”
It is a production of Equestrian Promotions, Inc., Bel Air, Maryland.
It was more difficult to take no flash pictures here because the arena was dark, so I did take a few with flash to capture some of the events.
A pair of Norwegian Fjords in authentic Norwegian harness – pulling a Victorian Carriage.
In the carriage are two elected officials who represent Pennsylvania farmers.
They stopped in front of us during the Presentation of Colors and the National Anthem which was sung by Lindy Hild.
Lindy Hild is an avid horse person and a professionally trained vocalist.
Extreme Roman Riding performed by Tommie Turvey and his Paint horses, Joker and Ace.
Tommie also demonstrated some fancy lasso tricks.
It is amazing what they can train horses to do.
Tommie and Joker and Ace go through the fire.
The Not-So-Wild West was a favorite part of the evening for us.
Bobby Kerr is a supreme Extreme Mustang Makeover champion and Jingle Bob is a Mustang who was wild and untouched just 9 months ago.
After pulling the old car and trailer into the arena, a mechanical calf exited the trailer and Bobby and Jingle Bob took off after it – attempting to rope it.
Jingle Bob did everything Bobby asked him to do – laying down, rolling over, and kneeling on one leg to thank the audience for their applause.
He even crawled into this old car and rode around the arena.
Nice shots, Doris — I particularly like the lasso shots, where you can see the movement in the rope!
Thank you!
