Harrisburg Farm Show Complex and Expo Center
This came about because Gloria had not come to a decision as to what she wanted to do for her birthday – which was in December.
When I saw this event advertised, I immediately thought of her – and she loved the idea of going.
I thought it might be fun for her to take her friend Ashlea along, who is also a horse-lover and my great-niece – one of my sister’s granddaughters. They loved that plan, and it was agreed that we would pick them up on Friday evening after school.
We arrived shortly after 5:00 p.m. and began our visit in Exposition Hall where there were many vendors and a variety of horses.
Gloria wanted to get a few items for her miniature horse and found what she wanted here.
They were more anxious to see horses, so before long we purchased something for supper and went to the Equine Arena where the Parade of Breeds was set to begin.
I found this to be a delightful atmosphere in which to sit and enjoy my cheeseburger and Pepsi.
I should have Gloria and Ashlea with me as I enter this post, because they could tell me which breed each of these are.
Yes, he is carrying a falcon as these horses are used in the sport of falconry.
It was interesting to listen to the traits of each breed and watch the riders display a variety of gaits.
I took most of these pictures without a flash so the focus is a bit soft.
Wonderful shots, Doris! How lucky the girls are to have a grandmother like you!
I think that I am the lucky one! 🙂
