Sunday Evening, January 19 ~ Neffsville Mennonite Church
Neffsville, Pennsylvania
The tables were beautifully set when we arrived at 4:30 p.m.
Mel and Velda were in the entrance area of the church to welcome family and friends as they arrived for the 5:00 p.m. meal.
In this photo they are greeting Deb and Roy (our daughter and son-in-law).
Velda hugging a sister-in-law.
Megan and Shtefan lighting candles.
Dorretta (in red) visiting with guests and explaining family memories.
Don and Gabi (center) talking to his uncle and aunt – Mel’s oldest brother.
Chairs were set up in front of the monitor so guests could watch the slide presentation.
Just before the meal was served, Mel and Velda’s family gathered across the front for introductions.
Dorretta (Mel and Velda’s oldest child) introduced her husband, Rod, daughter Megan, and son-in-law, Eric. Rod and Dorretta’s son, Justin, his wife Haley, and their baby son Owen could not attend due to illness.
Donald introduced his wife, Gabi, and sons Shtefan and Jeremy.
Denise introduced her daughter Sami. They live in Florida and were the only two who were able to attend the celebration. Denise and her husband, Dave, have two other children. Brittany is a student at Liberty University in Virginia, and their son Dan is a high school student.
Following introductions we enjoyed a delicious meal: salad, ham balls, potatoes au gratin, peas & carrots, cake, and ice cream.
One more set of pictures tomorrow night.
