Overlook Skating Rink is not far from Chuck-E-Cheeses, so we had an hour to fill with another activity until the rink opened.
First we spent some time at one of the playgrounds. Of course Jared tried to climb outside the safety fence. 🙂
I was impressed that there was the story of Noah’s Ark in this area. There were pictures on the other side of each story section.
After they tired of the sliding boards, we explored the walking area.
There were a lot of dogs and their owners in the dog park.
It was a beautiful afternoon for a walk.
Gloria thought this was a Frisbee field.
After the skateboarder left the inline and skateboarding area, the children spent a bit of time here until it was time to go inside.
Jesse was a bit unsure of being on roller skates, but did a great job.
The others knew what they were doing.
I couldn’t use a flash inside the building, so the focus is a bit soft.
Gloria is preparing to give me a high-five.
Ian gave Jesse a hand for a bit. The restaurant area is in the background.
I spent most of my time in there as it had a good view of the rink and I could keep the food and drink available for them.
They loved the competition of trying to go under the bar.
Then there were five – and Jared and Ian were still in the competition.
The first four touched the bar or the floor…
…but this guy made it! I don’t think it was the first time he won the competition. 🙂
They weren’t ready to go home – even after two hours of skating. I think we will be celebrating some more birthdays at Overlook.
Skating is always a fun birthday party activity — or for afternoons together or whatever!
This was a great activity for them.
