10:30 a.m. – There were already lots of people looking at items in North Hall when I arrived.
These things would be auctioned later in the day and on Saturday morning.
Duane Ness is the Chairman of this event and because he has to be at a lot of places and meet a lot of people – especially on Friday – he uses a Segway to get around.
Earl Fahnestock was busy receiving and organizing items that had arrived for auction.
He and his wife, Charlene (above), are Committee Chairpersons for the North Hall Auctions.
These are just a few of the items that were available to be purchased on auction.
(The Grand Marquis sold for $1,700.00 and the Volkswagen brought $5,000.00.)
The auction area – ready for announcers, runners, and auctioneers.
Wilbur Hosler (pastor and auctioneer) opened the auction with prayer.
The runners always look so serious – because they have to keep an eye out on the bidders so they know where to deliver the item.
This is my photographer friend, John Minnich. He has been doing this for many years.
A few years ago he couldn’t be here and asked me to fill in for him. The next year I was asked to stay as his assistant, as it is difficult for one photographer to always be where things are happening.
This was my view for this years auction.
Tomorrow night I will post pictures from Saturday morning’s auction.
There are at least a dozen things there that I want!! Good thing I live too far away to go! 🙂 That quilt would be top on my list. Any idea how much that went for, Doris?
The quilts didn’t go very high this year. I will post the quilts later this week, so keep your eye open for them. I don’t think I marked the price of that one.
i would have liked to have been there! i love auctions :))
I enjoy auctions, but rarely buy anything.
