We arrived at the International Office about 5:45 a.m. this morning.
Just after loading our luggage and supplies into the truck, I realized that I forgot my purse. 🙁
Consequently we headed east – to go by our house – before going west.
I would certainly have trouble at the border without my driver’s license for photo ID.
Our snack stash for the next three weeks. We eat two meals a day – usually at travel plazas and snack in between.
There is nothing like road work to bring out “interesting” trucker talk on the CB. You would have thought the truckers were being hung upside down by their toe nails. 🙂
The slow traffic gave me opportunity to take pictures of roadside flowers.
This is the truck we followed for five miles of “construction” – and never saw any construction.
More threatening skies just before Toledo.
A cute little church – before we stopped for the day, just west of South Bend, Indiana.
We spent the evening visiting with people in the travel plaza. One couple was on their way home to Manitoba. They are owners of Prairie View Press http://www.prairieviewpress.com/index.php?p=home and during our discussion we discovered that we have mutual friends – Norm & Wilda Kanagy.
When going back to our seats, a truck driver stopped us and began asking about the chapel. We were parked beside him.
That turned out to be a blessing because he told Cerwin about road construction near Chicago that would greatly hinder our travel time tomorrow.
Oh, my, what a rainy day you had! But you have some lovely shots — the morning sky, the rain clouds against the hills, the flowers, and that cute little chapel. I hope tomorrow will be less rainy and Calgary drying out!
Thanks. We will see what tomorrow brings. It sounds like Calgary is drying out.
Driving in the rain can be exhausting ~ day’s end is always sweet after that ~ 🙂
The heavy rain never lasted long, so it wasn’t too bad.
That comment above is from me ~ it wouldn’t let me put my name in ~ ??
