I love sharing my life with you and participating in what you have allowed God to do with your life.
You are patient, kind, hardworking, and fun.
A real man of God.
I think of you every time I read Psalm 1:1-3
Blessed is the man
who walks not in the counsel of the wicked,
nor stands in the way of sinners,
nor sits in the seat of scoffers;
2 but his delight is in the law of the Lord,
and on his law he meditates day and night.
3 He is like a tree
planted by streams of water
that yields its fruit in its season,
and its leaf does not wither.
In all that he does, he prospers.

Saturday Evening, April 2
Checking out the menu at General Sutter Inn in Lititz for Diane’s January 1st birthday. Deb looks like she is checking out the ceiling. 🙂
It took awhile for us to find a date that suited everyone – when Diane was visiting from Maine – so we were three months late.
We had so much fun and found a new favorite restaurant.
Love this picture of Diane.
Fifty years have matured her into a kind daughter, loving wife, wise mother, sweet friend, and a wonderful grandma.
We had reservations for an early supper (4 PM) because of evening activities, so there weren’t may people in the restaurant.
It is a beautiful, relaxing dining room.
Our family likes to order a few appetizers and share them with each other while waiting for our entrees. This was Chris’ Beet Root Trio. I liked the orange beets.
Lobster Mac & Cheese
Pilsner Cheddar Bites
We had a delightful time visiting, laughing, and eating.
I love being with our family and missed Mark – who had not come to Pennsylvania on this trip.
Wednesday, March 30
Just as we were finishing supper, Jere called to ask if we wanted to go along with them to surprise Jana for her birthday. (Thankfully we had not eaten dessert!)
She was working at Fox Meadows Creamery.
Diane (left) had just arrived from Maine, so she was pleased to be part of the surprise.
Her youngest daughter, Lydia, came for a three-day conference. Diane came along to keep her company on the drive.
We all sang Happy Birthday as we walked in the door. 🙂
I love doing impromptu things.
The other patrons enjoyed our surprise as well.
Diane chose a variety of flavors.
Enjoying our ice cream
I usually get vanilla ice cream, but this flavor – Spearmint Matcha – caught my attention.
I now have a new favorite flavor of ice cream, so we brought a half gallon.
How did that happen?
It seems like she should still be a preschooler – but she is now a loving, delightful seventeen-year-old.
A “creative” 17. 🙂
Opening her gifts
The funny part of the party.
I thought she and her dad were doing a selfie until I saw the picture.
Jana has some kind of phone ap that exchanges the faces. 🙂
This is Jana with Josiah’s beard. 🙂
Sylvia and Kristen laughing at someone’s face exchange.
Sylvia is a second mom to Kristen. She was a vital part of Kristen’s growing up years.
Jana and Kristen’s exchange.
Roy and Deb looking at their facial exchange.
It is so much fun to have a lot of belly laughs.
Saturday Afternoon, August 8
Bryson is Elvin’s grandson.
I liked the “speed” marks on the cake. 🙂
Bailey and Peyton watching the candle lighting.
Singing “Happy Birthday”
Held by his mom
He was more interested in the cars than in the cake.
Yum! The icing is good.
His mom decided it would be wise to remove his shirt.
Aunt Crystal threatening to eat his cake.
Leslie’s mom and brother
We left the party with the wonderful taste of cake on our taste buds.
