Valentine’s Day

Wednesday, February 14

After breakfast I gave the boys the card and candy – from their parents – who were on a business trip to New Zealand.

After they left for school, I divided the peanut butter cups into three equal baggies with their names on them – so they each received the same amount of candy. 🙂

There were two extra. Cerwin and I took care of those. Yum! I love peanut butter cups.

Cerwin brought me some beautiful roses.

After school we went to the early evening movie – Peter Rabbit.

Jesse had asked Deb for a date to see this movie.

They kindly invited the rest of us to go along – Cerwin, Me, Ian, Jared, Jesse, Deb – and Deb’s friends Bernae and her daughter Katie.

Most of us remember all the trouble Peter got into in Mr. McGregor’s garden – and his siblings Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cottontail.

Nothing has changed – even in a more modern movie.

Some of the story was the same: Mr. McGregor chasing Peter out of the garden and Peter almost getting caught, but then getting away – and hiding under a flower pot. But after Mr. McGregor died, a nephew from London inherited the farm. That is when some new things began to happen – like electric fences.

As usual Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cottontail were always trying to keep him out of trouble.

My favorite part was when they forgave each other by putting their foreheads together.

The funniest part was when Benjamin Bunny (a cousin) got caught and the rest of the bunnies jumped on the farm truck in an effort to rescue him from the young Mr. McGregor – and Benjamin’s ears got caught in the hood of the truck.

He tried so hard to not scream. His muffled groans just made me laugh.

These were the two who originally planned this fun date – Jesse and Deb.

That was a fun Valentine’s Day.
