Road Trip – Part 14 – A Stitch In Time – Japheth’s Shop

Wednesday, April 15

The last time we visited Bob and Doris, we were in a TFC tractor – on the way home from delivering a chapel to Calgary, Alberta – so we did not drive to Bemidji to see Japheth’s new shop.

0aThis time we were in our car, and made time to go to Bemidji. I lost count of how many times we saw the Mississippi River on this trip.

0Lake Bemidji had open water close to the road, but there was still ice a short distance from the shore.

2 (1)Japheth was expecting us, because we asked him what was a good time for us to visit.

2 (2)He has any color thread you may need.

2 (3)Samples of his stitching.

3 (3)He has a wide variety of sweepers he has for sale.

3 (1)If you are a serious – or maybe not so serious seamstress – you probably know about Baby Lock sewing machines.

3 (4)His two employees assist is sales and repairs.

3 (5)When we went to see his storage area, he pointed out this door that was once part of a doctor/dentist office in Bemidji – they think in the early 1900s.

3 (7)There were many more samples of stitching and quilting on walls and tables.

3 (9)If you purchase a machine from him, you can come for classes and learn how it works.

Thanks, Japheth, for taking time to show us your shop.
